Producer - Musician - Worship Leader

Mark Dowdy has nearly twenty years of experience in the recording business as an engineer, musician, and producer. A musician’s musician, Mark’s philosophy of production centers around, “…the groove; if you don’t have it, you don’t have anything to build around. I’m also big into texture – I want the end result to be almost 3 dimensional. I’m all about the energy, passion, and intensity of the music. And of course, it all starts with a great song.”

Although Mark has worked with nearly every genre of music in his career, his first love is helping Contemporary Christian vocalists and bands find a voice for their artistry. Mark says, “My role as producer is to make the artist shine. There are no ‘cookie cutter’ productions, every artist is different. You’ve got to get into the mind of the artist and find out what will work for them. Of course, part of it is song selection, and making sure the right instrumentation and feel happens on the recording. It’s my job to take care of all the details that make that happen.”

Mark’s work as a Worship Pastor over the past several years has given him new and valuable insight into life from the “artist” perspective. Mark’s current CD, “Return to Me” is a collection of songs that reflect a heart longing for God’s presence. The title track was used as the 2007 theme for Children’s Hope Chest, an organization that brings hope to orphans around the world.
